Why the practice exists

I do not want men to lose years living by accident.

I have spent most of my adult life inside the same investigation. I have worked as an entrepreneur, a broker, a competitive golfer, a music producer. I have taken health, ambition, discipline, vice, and relationships seriously in turn and out of turn. Under all of it has been one question: why do capable people build lives that no longer feel like their own — and what can be done about it before the years are gone.

I have watched men who by every visible measure had it figured out, sit down in private and describe a life they could no longer defend. I have been in that seat myself, more than once. The gap between how a life looks and how it feels, from the inside, is where most of the actual suffering lives.

Coaching is the form my commitment currently takes. The deeper work — the work I care about — is helping a man understand what is actually driving him, decide what genuinely matters, and bring his behavior into alignment with what he has decided.

What I am not

Direct about the boundaries.

I am not a licensed therapist and I do not provide mental-health treatment. I am not a physician and I do not provide medical advice. I am not a financial advisor and I do not provide investment advice. I am not a member of any coaching guild, cohort, or licensing body, and I do not follow anyone else's method.

What I offer is a private, ongoing, written and spoken working relationship with a specific man, focused on the actual life he is living, guided by the philosophy of this practice and by whatever I have learned from my own investigation of the same questions.

How I work

Direct. Written. In confidence.

I read every application personally. I respond personally. I take on a small number of members at a time, bounded by my own calendar. Each member gets one private call per week and direct written access between calls. Nothing said inside that relationship is shared outside it.

I am not for everyone, and Private is not for every stage of a man's life. If we are not the right fit, I will say so, and I will do so quickly.
